What Would Jesus Do?

Posted on

Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.

1 John 2:6

We have accepted Jesus as our Savior and the Holy Spirit lives in us, so Christ lives in us and we live in Christ; therefore, we strive to live with the same attitude and mindset as Jesus did. It makes perfect sense to ask ourselves in every situation, “What would Jesus do?” Stating this will help us to remember to call on the Spirit for guidance through any situation.

I depend on God alone; I put my hope in him. He alone protects and saves me; he is my defender, and I shall never be defeated. (Psalm 62:5-6) If we develop the habit of saying “What would Jesus do,” it will help us to become more dependent on the Lord. It is a great blessing to be dependent on the Lord because it increases our faith and brings us closer to the Lord. When we state this term we are actually seeking the Lord’s divine guidance, and when we ask we receive, especially when we are ministering to the world. The Lord is always there for us when we are reflecting Christ to the world.

The more we use the term “What would Jesus do,” the more we depend on scripture because Jesus often used scripture. In both our ministry and in our spiritual warfare we use scripture, because the power is in the Word of God. But whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. (Psalm 1:2) The more we know scripture, the more we can know what Jesus would do.

The blessings of making decisions in thought, word, or action, as Jesus would have done, gives us divine wisdom and feeling of contentment and satisfaction. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as though you were working for the Lord and not for people. Remember that the Lord will give you as a reward what he has kept for his people. For Christ is the real Master you serve. (Colossians 3:23-24) When we consider that everything we do in life is for the Lord, we tend to do better at everything with his divine help and feel contentment in everything we do.

Today, whenever needed, ask, “What would Jesus do?” Sometimes we may need to pray and search scripture to find the answer, but usually we are guided by our Godly conscious. Experience the blessings of walking through your day as Jesus would have walked.

Prayer:  Lord, help me to walk this day as Jesus would have walked this day. Remind me through the Spirit to ask, What would Jesus do? And I pray the Spirit guides me to the correct answer. In Jesus’ name, Amen
