We Live for Eternity
And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
1 John 5:11
We all face eternity, and eternal life is Heaven where we will be with the Father and the Son. Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. (John 17:3) Eternal life is with the Father and the Son, and life is better than we can ever imagine.
For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, (James 2:26) When we die only the flesh dies, and we are alive in our eternal spirit, and when Chrit returns we get and younger body that last forever, and eternal home is Heaven. So we live for eternity in Heaven, where life is perfect beyond our imagination.
I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. (1 John 5:11) God promises that no one will snatch us out of God’s hand, only we can walk away from the Lord. But the closer we are to Christ, the further we are away from the world. We minister to the world, but our home is Heaven.
When life is over in this world, we step into eternity. This earthly life is the only chance we have to serve Christ and be pleasing to God. Jesus died on the cross for our sins, and we now have forgiveness, because on one is perfect while living in the flesh. Although God gives us power over Satan; We know that God’s children do not make a practice of sinning, for God’s Son holds them securely, and the evil one cannot touch them. (1 John 5:18) We are not perfect but overcome any sinful habits, and Christ protects us from the evil one. No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. God will always give us away out when Satan tempts us.
The closer we are to Christ, and the more we commune with the Lord, the less we will tempted by Satan. And the Holy Spirit will convict us when we are tempted, which can cause to overcome the temptation.
Today know we will live for eternity in Heaven, and we don’t let Satan pull us off the Narrow Road to Heaven.
Prayer: Lord, keep me on the Narrow Road to Heaven as I go through life serving Christ. In Jesus name, Amen
