We Are a Temple
Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are.
1 Corinthians 3:16-17
Our flesh is a temple, and we take care of our body the best we can, which includes prayer and seeking the Lord’s divine power. Our flesh is a temple because the Spirit of God lives within us, making our body Holy. We are Holy both inside and outside. and if we recognize who we are, we will live in God’s image.
It’s important to recognize who we are; we are created in the image of God, and we are a Holy person living in the power of God. Everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. (1 John 5:4) If we see our self as a temple with the Spirit of God within us, we now have the power of God to overcome the world.
Most Christians see their flesh as the source of sinful desires, but if we see our flesh as a temple, then we can remain Holy and separate from sin. The next time Satan attacks, we see our self as a temple of God, and that can give us the power to overcome. Remember wherever we are, we are Holy person.
Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God–this is your spiritual act of worship. (Romans 12:1) Since our body is a temple, we use our body in service to God. We sacrifice our body to serve the Lord as a priority in our life. Our body doesn’t control the Spirit, the Spirit controls the body.
After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church. (Ephesians 5:29) We do our best to take of the temple: rest, eat right, exercise, pray, and medical help when needed. We always pray for the Lord’s divine power to keep the temple healthy, for the purpose of serving Christ.
Today remember you are temple and you are Holy, and reflect Christ to everyone.
