Sin is Against God

Posted on

But each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

James 1:14-15

We all fight temptations from Satan who plays on our weaknesses, and we have Godly sorrow when we sin, and we ask for forgiveness. The problem occurs is when have a habitual sin that we fight, but haven’t found a lasting victory.

I can do all this through him who gives me strength. (Philippians 4:13) We overcome a habitual sin through power of God.  The battle is between our sinful emotional desire and God’s power. We must capture the thought and call on the Lord’s power before the emotion takes over. We can change by praying on our knees, and envision Christ pleading that we ask for his divine power to overcome. Also have in mind that all sin from people in God’s family is painful and sad to Him.

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.  (1 Corinthians 10:13) We pray for the Lord to help us escape when temptation occurs. We strive to find an escape and we seek the Lord’s power at the same time.  Sometimes our escape must be modified until we find the optimal escape.

Always seek victory when tempted, and with victory we feel thankful to the Lord because we have overcome Satan’s attack. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 15:17) We depend on the Lord for an escape, and when we are victorious, we give thanks to the Lord.  In everything we do in life, we pray for the Lord’s divine power, because Satan is always attacking.

Today when tempted, vision Christ watching and knowing your thoughts, and seek his divine power to overcome Satan. Always think victory when not tempted and when tempted. Live everyday with victory in Christ.

Prayer:  Lord, help me to always lean on your divine power, and that all sin is against you. In Jesus name, Amen
