We All Face Eternity
For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.
2 Corinthians 4:17
When our flesh dies our spirit is alive and we all face eternity, and our life is in our spirit, because without the spirit the flesh is dead. As the body without the spirit is dead… (James 2:26) We are spiritual people living in a temporary fleshly body, and we all face eternity.
And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. (1 John 5:11) This present life is the only chance we have to live for eternal life in Heaven, and eternal life is given in a Word of God. It’s never to late to read and known the Word, and live for Christ; which in the life we are created to live.
This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. (John 17:3) Eternal life is knowing the Father and the Son; and what would Heaven be like without the Father and the Son? The closer we are to Father and Son in this life, the more we desire to be in Heaven with the Father and the Son; and having a close relationship with the Father and the Son is the greatest motivator for eternal life.
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad. (2 Corinthians 5:10) Doing good is obeying God’s commands in the Bible, and these commands become natural to us when we have a heart filled with God’s love.; and as we continue obeying the Lord’s commands, God fills our hearts with his unconditional love.
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. (Romans 12:21) If we live with the fruit of the Spirit, we can overcome evil because the Spirit keeps us doing good. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. (Galatians 5:22-23) The fruit of the Spirit becomes the new character for Christians. If we live with the fruit of the Spirit, and seek to obey the Lord’s command with a heart of love, then we can face eternity because Heaven will be our home.
Today live for eternal life, because we all face eternity, and eternal life is our choice.
