Be Still and Know God

Posted on

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

Psalm 46:10

Being still is being quiet inside and controlling your thoughts on things above. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. (Colossians 4:2-3) A Christian need to patience in their actions and also patience in their thoughts. Our thoughts should be controlled by Christ and always directed above, and we do this by interfacing to the world through the Spirit.

Even if our minds are busy on earthy affairs, we can be controlled by the Spirit, and remain still inside. Patience is a fruit of the Spirit, and God wants us to always be connected to Christ through the Spirit, and we must remain still inside. Pray without ceasing, (1 Thessalonians 5:17) We remain connected to Christ by conversing with him all day, and this might seem difficult but through prayer it is achievable, because that is what God desires.

The LORD is in his holy temple; let all the earth be silent before him. (Habakkuk 2:20) Being still inside is how we maintain our worship to God, with our thoughts filled with praise and thanks. Every good thing in our life comes from God, and we give thanks for everything good in our life. We could spend all day just thanking God for all he has done for us.

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. (John 16:33) The Lord gives divine peace which helps us to be still inside and to be patience. The peace from God is not like peace from the world, peace from God stays with us, and gets stronger the closer we are to Christ.

Christ has overcome the world, and the world is becoming increasingly evil in the last days, but never fear Christ is with us and helps us to overcome the world. For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. (1 John 5:4) We place all our faith in Christ to our last breath, because we have overcome physical death, because life is in our spirit.

Today be still inside and know God, and praise and thank God. Christ wants a close relationship with us, and we desire a close relationship with Christ.

Prayer: Father, help me to be still inside with praise and thankfulness from my heart. In Jesus name, Amen
