This Life Verses Eternal Life
Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.
James 4:14
This short life is the one and only chance we have to live for our eternal life. And Satan wants people to live by their fleshly desires and forget about eternal life. He plants his lies in the hearts of people, or he lies and make them think they have eternal life. I know a good number of people that think they have eternal life and have never studied the Word of God.
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10) Satan lies have convinced people that they will forfeit their freedom if they serve the Lord, but the truth is we live life to the full when we serve the Lord because we are living as created. If people don’t know the Word, they will by default believe Satan’s lies. Satan knows God’s truth and his desire is to hurt God by pulling people away from eternal life with his lies and deceptions.
When people want to make a wise decision, they normally look at both options, but they don’t look at both options when making the most important decision about their eternal life. When we take our last breath, our spirit leaves the body and we are alive. Our spirit is where our life is, it’s our thoughts, personality, and will. the body without the spirit is dead, (James 2:26)
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1) Christ gives us life to the full and we are free in Christ. The Holy Spirit connects to Christ and we walk in the power for God in this evil world and Satan cannot deceive us or control us because we know the truth, and we are guided by God’s wisdom and strength into Heaven.
You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. (Romans 8:9) We are governed by the Spirit and not by our fleshy desires. When we are guided by Christ, we enjoy life as God intended. Our soul is continuously filled with blessings from Heaven, and we are content in all circumstances because our spirit is content because of the blessing from Christ. Christ is with us until we reach and our home in Heaven, then we will be in the presence of the Father and the Son.
Today don’t be deceived by Satan but walk in God’s divine truth. One of Satan’s biggest lies is to live for the flesh and not for the Spirit, live for this life and not for eternal life. Which means live for Satan or live for Christ. Eternal life is our choice!
