This Life is a Vapor

Posted on

Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.

James 4:14

This life is a vapor when we compare it to eternal life, and this life is this only chance to get right with God. Our eternal home in Heaven is clearly explained in the Word of God. Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. (Matthew 7:13-14) The reason many are on the broad road to destruction is because they never find the narrow road, because they never search for the truth from God’s Word.

This life is short and Satan keeps us busy believing his lies, which stops us from seeking the truth. Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (1 John 1:6) The truth is, no one comes to the Father except through Christ. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)
As Christians we are a light in this world, and we pray that the Lord will open doors so we can tell others about salvation in Christ. If Christians don’t tell lost souls about salvation in Christ, then who is going to tell them?

We only have this short life to be a light for Christ, and we always need Christ with us and to guide us. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. (Matthew 5:14) We always pray that the Lord guides us to be light for Christ, because no matter where we live in this world, the Lord always has the answer.

Today remember life is vapor and tomorrow is not promised, so pray that the Lord will guide you to be light.

Prayer: Lord give the guidance, the words, and the courage to be light in this world, to bring lost souls to Christ. In Jesus name, Amen
