The World against Christians
“If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you.”
John 15:18-19
These are the words of Jesus and they have come true today. I have been reading reports about Christians being persecuted and killed all over the world like never before. They will put you out of the synagogue; in fact, the time is coming when anyone who kills you will think they are offering a service to God. (John 16:2) Christians are being killed today thinking it’s in service to God, while others are outlawing Christianity because they think Christians take away their freedom, or because Christians are causing the world’s problems. The reason all this is happening is because Satan wants to destroy God’s people. At ends times, Satan will be set free for short time with all his power (Rev. 20:3). And that is what we have been seeing in the last few years; we are seeing more evil and the world going against Christians.
But immediately after the tribulation of those days the Sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn, when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. (Matthew 24:29-30 ASV) The evil in the world caused by Satan will definitely end in victory for God’s people. At the end, Christ will return, and the world will mourn except for Christians who will experience great joy as we are taken up to be with Christ in Heaven forever.
And He will send forth His angels with a great trumpet and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other. (Matthew 24:31 ASV). We have the promise of eternal victory, and whether we have died or we are alive, we will be changed in a flash into our new eternal bodies and we will meet Christ in the clouds. This is the day of God’s judgment and that is why the unbelieving world will mourn.
Because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold. “But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved.” (Matthew 24:12-13 NASB) Live in victory with a heart filled with God’s love, just as Jesus did to His last breath. Seek to bring the truth to a world deceived by Satan’s lies because it’s a terrible thing to experience God’s wrath.
Today, know that Satan’s purpose is to destroy Christians and know you have power over Satan. You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. (1 John 4:4) Live today and every day with victory in Christ.
Prayer: Lord, let your love in my heart grow stronger as Satan captures people with his lies. Help me to walk with victory in Christ always being a Light for Christ, to bring your Truth to those who believe Satan’s lies. In Jesus’ name, Amen
