The Power of Faith
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Hebrews 11:6
This verse tells us without faith it is impossible to please God, and we certainly don’t want go through life displeasing God. Are we living with a faith that is pleasing to God? We can find out by knowing the faith that does please God. If we live by faith that pleases God, we will certainly be blessed.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6) If we have faith that always submits to Christ, we live in His power to make our paths straight. My understanding of making our paths straight is that he guides every path toward our Heavenly eternal destination. This requires faith that trusts God’s will over our will.
Faith that pleases God is a faith that fully trusts God with our life trusting Christ to guide us through the Spirit. We live as the Lord’s servants knowing Christ is our master and we do whatever the master tells us. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. (Ephesians 3:20) With faith that pleases God, trusting Christ to guide us, we can now live with His power that works within us.
We may think when we let Christ guide us through the Holy Spirit that we lose control of our life. This is a lie that Satan wants us to believe. The truth is — we gain control, and we are no longer slaves to the world. It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1)
We are free as our mind is renewed and our hearts change to be like Jesus. Then we seek to follow the Holy Spirit and not the way of the world or the way of our flesh. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live. (Romans 8:13) If we live by our fleshly desires, we are fulfilling Satan’s desire. If we live by the Spirit, guided by Christ and living in His power, we overcome the world. Everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. (1 John 5:4)
If we have the faith allowing God to lead our life, then we can be free in Christ, overcome the world, and live in the power of Christ with peace and joy. It all depends on faith that pleases God. For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8) We are saved by our faith in Christ, letting Christ guide us through life to our Heavenly home.
Today, live with your faith in Christ, trusting his guidance and trusting to obey. Faith is the key to your eternal life and allows you to live in the power of Christ. With faith, you are free in Christ and you have overcome the world.
Prayer: Lord, always increase my faith in Christ as I put my life in his loving hands. Help me to always be obedient to your good, pleasing, and perfect will. In Jesus’ name, Amen
