The Lord is Always with You

Posted on

Teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.

Matthew 28:20

One thing we should never forget, and that is the Lord is always with us. The more we pray, commune with the Lord, study the Word, and fellowship with other Christians, the more we know he is with us. The above verse say “teach them,” and “I am with you always.”  The key to being close to the Lord is to serve him with all of your heart.

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:13) When we minister to others with a heart filled with God’s love, we are drawn to the Lord for his help and guidance. Through prayer, we seek scriptures and words in ministering to others.  I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. (John 15:5) Ministering to others makes us dependent on the Lord for divine guidance in bringing the good news of Christ.

Seeking the Lord for his divine guidance in ministry draws us nearer to the Lord and he comes nearer to us. Come near to God and he will come near to you. (James 4:8) We will move closer to the Lord as we depend on the Lord when ministering to others, studying his Word, praying, and fellowship with other Christians.  The Word, prayer, fellowship, and ministry, all will cause us to spiritually grow and be closer to the Lord.   The key to spiritual growth and seeking to be closer to the Lord is ministry to others – living as Jesus did.

We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands. (1 John 2:3) This word “know” means an intimate close relationship and we reach this closeness by keeping his commands.  This primarily includes being a witness for Christ because our life now identifies with Jesus’ life. Nothing brings us closer to Christ than ministering to others with a heart of love and compassion. The more we minister to others, the more we are aware of his presence.

Today, know the Lord is with you as you reflect Christ to the world.  Commune with the Lord today and ask for his divine guidance. See yourself as a servant for the Lord, and know he is sovereign over everything.  There is no higher position on the face of the earth than being the Lord’s servant, and he calls you friend.

Prayer: Lord your promise to be with me is a great blessing. I need your divine guidance to reflect your love and your Word to others.  I am thankful beyond words when I hear your divine words through the Spirit. In Jesus name, Amen
