You’re a Light on a Hill

You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:14-16

We are told by Christ to let our light shine before others, and now is a prime time let it shine. Satan is trying to make people fearful because he knows fear can be more powerful than our faith.  Now is the time to strengthen our faith and to serve the Lord by letting our Light shine.  Because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved. This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come. (Matthew 24:12-13)

We are light to everyone, and minister to those willing to accept Christ as their savior. The harvest is ready and many are seeking to understand.  We have divine understanding from the Word, we know Satan’s plan and we know the plan of our sovereign God.  We can answer people’s questions and tell them how to be saved and to overcome the world through Christ.

For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.(1 John 5:4 ) Through our faith in God’s love and his infinite power, we can overcome the world throughout our life in this fallen world. We live reflecting this victorious attitude in Christ with no fear from Satan. We stand with the power of the Almighty. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, (Ephesians 3:20)

And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. (Mark 16:15) This is a commandment from Christ for all Christians, and it is the primary reason for our earthly existence.  We help people and tell them about eternal life in Christ, and we do this with a loving compassionate heart.  Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did. (1 John 2:6) We live with a desire to help others just as Jesus did, and the Spirit will guide us.

Today, be light on the hill so others can see the love, peace, and joy of Christ. Tell others the hope that is in you from Christ.  Your hopeful and loving attitude is a powerful witness to others.

Prayer:  Lord, fill my heart with your joy and take away any fear from Satan.  Guide me in the Spirit to be a light on the hill. In Jesus’ name, Amen
