The Kingdom Within

Posted on

People will not say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or, ‘There it is!’ because God’s kingdom is within you.”

Luke 17:21

God’s Kingdom is within us, because the Holy Spirit and the Father and the Son make their home with us. When our thoughts are on things above, then our spirit is in the Kingdom. Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. (John 14:23)

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. (John 14:16-17). Once we receive the Holy Spirit, the kingdom is now within us. Our thoughts and actions are driven by the Spirit and that keeps in the kingdom.

For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. (Romans 8:29). The more Christ like we become the more we experience living in the Kingdom and keeping our thoughts on things above; the more we can experience being in the kingdom. Being in the kingdom we can be closer to the Lord than we are to the world.

Keeping our thoughts on things above, we are in the Kingdom and we experience love, peace, and joy in our hearts. The more we continue reading the Word, praying, fellowship with Christians, ministering to others; the more we are in the kingdom.

If we have alone time with the Lord, and meditate deeply on his Word, we can experience living in the Kingdom. Whenever we seek to be closer to the Lord, we are in the Spirit, and we are in the Kingdom and the world disappears.

Today live in the Kingdom by communing with the Lord, praying, and reading scripture. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters. (Colossians 3:23). If we do everything for the Lord, and it requires communing with him for his help and guidance.

Prayer: Lord, help me to live in the Kingdom by leading me by the Spirit that I might be closer to you than anything in the world. Thank you for placing your Spirit in me and bringing the Kingdom to me. In Jesus name, Amen.
