Strive to Please God
So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it.
2 Corinthians 5:9
Paul’s goal is to please Christ while living his physical life, and to please Christ in his eternal life. Paul desire is to please God forever. If we imagine Christ walking with us, we would be extra careful with our thoughts, words, and actions. Actually Christ is with us through the Spirit and is aware of everything about us. Therefore if we are consciously aware of living to please Christ it will help us to control our thoughts, words, and actions.
Teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. (Matthew 28:20) Knowing the Lord is always with us will help us to overcome sin, because we will try to be pleasing to him. It is very important to know Christ is always with us and knows every thought of our hearts.
We can train ourselves to know the Lord is always with us and his presence will comfort us and give us confidence. Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.(John 14:23) The Father and the Son will make their home with us, which means we are permanently connected to Christ and the Father through the Holy Spirit that dwells within us. This is a blessing for us, having the Father and the Son always with us, guiding us through life as an ambassador for Christ.
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10) If the Lord is always with us, guiding and helping us through life with his perfect love and power, then we seek to be pleasing to him? If we are aware Christ is with us we can walk in peace and comfort.
Today know the Lord is with you and he is willing to guide you through the day. Christ loves you perfectly and he has the power to bless your day and help you overcome any temptation from Satan.
Prayer: Lord, help me to always be aware of your presence and to live every minute seeking to please you. Thank you for your love and guidance through the Spirit. I pray that I live this day pleasing to you. In Jesus name, Amen
