Spiritual Blessings from God

You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy;
In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.

Psalm 16:11

God is the one who created us and only God can give us spiritual blessings. God knows what we need to be satisfied in this life, and it will never go away. Things of the world, such as money, possessions, power; cannot compare to the contentment that we get from God. God created us and he knows how to fill us with lasting contentment, love, joy, and peace, and whatever he knows we need.

God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. (1 Peter 4:10) The spiritual gifts that come from God are lasting and they get stronger the more we serve Christ. God rewards us when we obey his good and perfect will, with more spiritual blessings.

I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength. (1 Peter 4:10-11) The apostle Paul experienced the spiritual gifts from God that made him content in all circumstances. Paul was willing to suffer more, so he could be closer to Christ, because the closer we are to Christ we experience more spiritual blessings.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 1:3) When we serve Christ we are blessed with spiritual blessings from God, and we cannot fully describe these blessings because only God knows how to satisfy us. God knows how to satisfy our soul, while the world can only temporarily satisfy our flesh. Every spiritual blessing from God is forever lasting and gets stronger the closer we are to Christ, and when we get to Heaven the spiritual blessings will be so great that we cannot describe in words.

The spiritual blessing that Paul experience was so great, he was ready to leave this world and be with Christ. I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; (Philippians 1:23) This statement from Paul reveals the greatest of being close to Christ and experiencing the power of the spiritual blessings.

Today serve Christ and seek every opportunity to bring people to Christ, and experience the spiritual blessings with a thankful heart.

Prayer: Father, thank you for the lasting spiritual blessings, and help me to continuously get closer to Christ. In Jesus name, Amen
