Signs of the Time
And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?
Matthew 24:3
Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains. (Matthew 24:7) Nation rising against nation is been happening for years, famine is occurring in many places in the world, virus has spread worldwide causing us to wear masks, and earthquakes are occurring in many places. When these events occur with increasing frequency, remember Jesus tells us that these events are the beginning of birth pains.
Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. (Matthew 24:4) Satan goal is to deceive all the nations with his lies and deceptions. His overall goal is to destroy God’s people. Today we see countries with leadership that is against Christians, or progressing against Christians. The time is coming when anyone who kills you will think they are offering a service to God. (John 16:2) Satan has a group of people in this world whose purpose is to take control and kill Christians. These people are deceived by Satan and think they are killing Christians as service to their god.
For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God. (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4) When the rebellion occurs, we will notice because it will be known by the public and worldwide. The rebellion will open the door for the man of lawlessness to rule the world, with the primary purpose to destroy God’s people.
Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, (Matthew 24:12) As we see wickedness increasing in the world it’s another sign of the times. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. (Matthew 24:14) Only God knows when the gospel has been preached to the whole world.
Signs of the time are recognized by increasing: nation against nation, earthquakes, pestilence, famines, man of lawlessness ruling the world, and evil in the world. Watch for these signs and know the end is approaching. There is no timeline for these events, except forty-two months for the man of lawlessness to rule the world. The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise its authority for forty-two months. (Revelations 13:5) The beast is another name for the man of lawlessness.
As Christians we have nothing to fear because our soul is protected by God for eternal life. We anxiously wait for Christ’s return so he can take us home. Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body in hell. (Matthew 10:28) If we remain faithful to our last breath, Heaven is our home.
Today live for Christ because lots of people are fearful about the future, and we have the answer to peace and joy.
