Faith is a Blessing

Posted on

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Having faith that pleases God means we trust the Lord with all our heart and we do not lean on our own understanding. When we reach this state in our hearts, it means we know the Lord and we trust him completely, and the result is peace and comfort because we put our life in the hands of Christ.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13) When our faith is totally in the Lord it brings peace, joy, and hope, because we know the Lord’s love and his power that he can work in our lives.

That your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God (1 Corinthians 2:5) Many people put their faith in money, power, or possessions; but Christians put their faith in God, to carry us through our earthly life and into eternal life in Heaven. Faith in the Lord brings more security than all the riches in the world, and only faith in God leads to eternal life. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? (Mark 8:36)

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:29-30) With faith that pleases God, there is rest for our souls and his burden we be light. Trusting the Lord with our life, having him guide us through life, brings rest, security, and takes the load off our shoulders.

If we know God, his infinite love, his power to speak and create, his infinite knowledge and understanding, how can we not trust him totally? He knows us better than we know ourselves and he gives us what we need to get through life. Faith with dependence brings us the best life we can ever expect. Without faith we depend on ourselves and that brings fear.

Today ask the Lord if your faith is pleasing to him. Trust the Lord today and let the Spirit guide you through the day. From knowing the Word, we know what is pleasing to God, and we ask the Lord for his guidance.

Prayer:  Guide me in the Spirit today and help my faith to always be pleasing to you. In Jesus name, Amen
