Serving Christ
I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:14
Our relationship with the Lord comes from serving Christ and having our hearts filled with God’s love. It’s a heart of love that enables us to have a close understanding of the Father and the Son. We press on toward Heaven, and do this by serving Christ which draws us closer to Christ and to Heaven. The Christian life is based on serving Christ and having a close relationship with Him, and that relationship increases to our last breath.
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. (1 John 4:7) It’s a heart of love that enables us to understand the heart and emotions of Christ, because we will have the same heart and emotions. With a heart of love, we are motivated to bring people to Christ, and we pray for the Lord to open doors for us.
And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. (1 John 4:16-17) When we live in love, which means bringing people to Christ, then God’s unconditional agape love will be complete in us. With a heart of love, we hurt for people that do not know the Lord because they have been deceived by Satan, and we especially hurt for people that are close to us that don’t know God’s Truth. We all know people that don’t know the God’s truth, and we are to bring the Light of Christ to them.
The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him. (Revelations12:9) It’s amazing how many people have a Bible, and they have their whole life to read and study the Word, but they rarely or never read the Word. No wonder the world is deceived by Satan, because people don’t know the Truth from the Word, so by default they believe Satan’s lies.
Christians are a Light for Christ and we kill Satan’s lies with God’s truth. We can start by inviting people to church, or handing out small books on God’s truth. On my website (Eternal Walk Ministry) on the book page, are a number of short booklets that can be printed for free. These booklets can be handed out to people and they will probably read it because they are usually only ten pages, filled with scriptures with explanations. Many people don’t read the Bible because of the many pages and they often cannot understand what they reading. Most people don’t read the Word because they believe Satan’s lies, and they think and hope Heaven is their home.
Today serve the Lord, because the more we serve the Lord the more Christ-like we become. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. (Romans 8:29) When we accept Christ, we know we are predestined to conform to Jesus.
Prayer: Lord, help me to always serve Christ, by knowing the Word and by the Holy Spirit. In Jesus name, Amen.
