Servants of Christ
Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, "Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all."
Mark 9:35
He made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. (Philippians 2:7 We are servants of Christ, and we serve others in this world. We are created to serve Christ, and that is why it is very satisfying and fulfilling.
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters. (Colossians 3:23) Everything we do should be service to the Lord, and we reflect Christ to everyone. God molds our minds and hearts to conform to image his Son, with our hearts are filled with God’s love, just as Jesus’s heart was filled with love.
Whoever wants to serve me must follow me, so that my servant will be with me where I am. And my Father will honor anyone who serves me. (John 12:26) When we live as a servant for Christ, he is with us and we are honored by the Father. There is no life better than being a servant for Christ, guided by the Spirit and bringing God’s truth to people.
Today, seek to be a humble secure servant for Christ, reflecting his love and compassion. We are blessed when we minister to people, both in their worldly needs and spiritual needs. This is how we show our love for the Lord. Jesus stated: The King will reply, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 25:40)
Prayer: Guide me today to be your servant in everything I do. Keep me humble and filled with your love, peace, and joy. In Jesus name, Amen
