Satan Controls the Broad Road

Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

Matthew 7:13-14

All those on the broad road are lost souls because they are deceived by Satan. His deceptions infiltrate all the world including churches. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (Ephesians 6:12) We are in a spiritual war against the forces of evil — Satan and his demons. It is important that we never fight people but we fight the evil forces in the heavenly realms.  People who don’t know Christ are victims of Satan’s lies and deception.

The spiritual war is also within the churches, with those who change the Bible to meet their own desires, and with those who don’t serve Christ. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. (Ephesians 3:20) We bring the Truth to people through the divine power of Christ and the power of knowing the Word. We reflect God’s truth with love and compassion with a caring heart.  However, we remember it is God that changes people. If people don’t accept the Truth, we need to still reflect God’s love and compassion.

Our hearts hurt just as the Lord’s heart hurts for those who refuse to accept Christ. Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing. (Matthew 23:37) If our hearts don’t hurt for lost souls, it will be difficult to show God’s love and compassion. We start ministering to our family and friends because we care about the people closest to us.  It’s sad when family and friends don’t accept God’s truth, and the love we have for them. This gives us a glimpse into Jesus’s heart.

And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. (1 John 4:16) God changes our hearts as we bring his love to others, and he fills our hearts with his love.  Love is what motivates us to minister to others.  God’s love is unconditional which means we love all people, even those who are victims of Satan’s deception.

Today, minister to those who are on the broad road, and combat Satan’s lies with God’s loving Truth. Always seek scriptures to overcome Satan’s lies because the power is in the Word.

Prayer:  Lord, guide me to minister to everyone, especially to lost souls. Guide me in your truth to combat Satan’s lies. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
