Pray Without Ceasing

Posted on

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

We pray without ceasing and we give thanks because the Spirit, Christ, and the Father are with us, and Heaven is our home. If we are thankful in our hearts, then this thankfulness is always with us and heard by the Lord.

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. (1 Chronicles 16:34) The love the father and to Son have for us, is beyond our imagination, and thankfulness for their love should always be in our hearts. We should pray often with thankfulness for what the Father and Son have done for us.

Christ left Heaven to live on earth, to tell us how to live, and was crucified for our sins. This gives us a heart that is always thankful to Christ and the Father. Jesus lived on the earth and healed many people, both physical and spiritual, but He never did a miracle for himself, and he went through life just as we go through life. He understands the temptations we have from Satan, and we have forgiveness and the divine power to overcome. There are many things that Christ did for us and still doing for us, that we should pray many times every day with thankfulness. Pray without ceasing shows we rejoice and we are thankful.

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. (Colossians 3:23-24) We show our love and thankfulness to the Father and the Son by obeying the Word and serving Christ. We fully trust the Lord by doing whatever Christ puts on our hearts to do, because we have complete faith in the Lord. We serve Christ and the more we know the Word, the easier it is to follow Christ.

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. (James 1:22) It is very important to obey the Word, otherwise we will never change. It is obeying the Word that renews our mind and changes our hearts. When we obey the Word, our mind is rewiring to the mind of Christ, and our hearts are filled being with God’s unconditional love. These are required for us to become more like Jesus, then we fully depend on Christ and it becomes easy to pray with without ceasing, because we are talking to Christ in every situation we encounter.

Today rejoice with a thankful heart, and depend on Christ for everything, because we need to always reflect Christ.

Prayer: Lord thank you for you love, and please be with me and guide me through each day of my life. In Jesus name, Amen
