Pray with a Thankful Heart
Rejoice always pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for this God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
God wants a close faithful relationship with us through prayer and thankfulness. Praying implies we talk to God throughout our day, with a thankful heart; and the closer relationship we have with God the more we will rejoice.
The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. (Psalm 145:18) The Lord wants a close loving relationship with us, and he wants us to depend in him for everything. Christ is with us through the Spirit and we can talk to Him anytime, and he will guide us through our day. We need his guidance because we are light on hill, and he will guide us to minister to people.
Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever. (Psalm 106:1) We talk to the Lord as we go through our days, seeking his help and guidance, with thanks and praise. Having a thankful heart brings us to a closer relationship with the Lord and better understanding of God the Father. A thankful heart is worship to God and every Christian needs a truly thankful heart, because God’s love for us is more than we can imagine.
Whatever circumstances we are experiencing, we can always depend on the Lord being with us, and we show a thankful heart because he is with us and Heaven is our home. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. (Colossians 3-4) Christ is our life because we depend on him to guide us every day, because he will guide us to people that need to hear about salvation, and give us the words and scriptures they need to hear.
The closer we are to Christ the more we can reflect Christ to others, and the more we depend on Him the more guidance we experience. The more we know the Word, the more we can be guided by Christ, because the Word is the language of God.
We are created in the image of God, which means we are created to be guided by Christ through life to our Heavenly Home. When we live the way God created us, we will live the most fulfilling life.
Today seek to be guided by Christ with a thankful heart in every circumstance.
