Peace from God

Posted on

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

John 16:33

We can have peace because Christ has overcome the world, and He has total control of the world and the universe. Therefore, we go through our day with peace and comfort for our souls. Satan tempts us through the flesh, but the peace from God kills Satan evil temptations.

Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. (Romans 8:5) We are guided by Christ through the Spirit, and we live with peace in this sinful world. You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. (Isaiah 26:3) Our faith is in Christ, and trust him to carry us through a peaceful life into our eternal home in Heaven.

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7) The peace that comes from God transcends understanding because it never goes away, and gets stronger the closer we are to Christ. Our thoughts are on things above and we pray daily to receive peace and to show peace.

Every blessing from God continually fills our souls as we develop a closer relationship with the Lord. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. (James 4:8) If we draw near to the Lord, then he will draw near us.Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. (1 John 4:7) Our hearts are filled with God’s love, as we continually serve Christ, and our hearts become more like the heart of Jesus as we bring people to Christ.

Today, seek to draw closer to the Lord by reflecting Jesus to everyone and pray for peace to fill your soul, and never let the world take away the peace that transcends understanding.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for giving me your divine peace, and let the world around me see the peace in my heart. In Jesus name, Amen
