Our Treasure is Christ
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Matthew 6:21
If we closely examine our lives we can determine our treasure, and whatever takes priority in our life can become our treasure. We can also examine our thoughts to see our treasure, because what we think about most can easily be our treasure.
Anything we treasure above the Lord becomes an idol. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. (Colossians 3:2) Our minds should commune with the Lord, because we depend on him for everything. We handle all our needs and desires through the Spirit, especially when need to make Godly wise choices.
But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. (Matthew 6:33) How can seek first His kingdom without giving Christ priority in life? We are to represent Christ and bring people to Christ. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. (Matthew 15:5) Our faith must depend on Christ being with at all times, and he guides our words, scriptures, and attitude; and without Christ we are depending ourselves.
Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. (Psalm 34:8) When we depend on the Lord being with us, we will find his divine help in bringing people to Christ, and soon we feel insecure if Christ is not with us. That is what means “taste and see that the Lord is good, and that is when we always depend on Christ guiding us in everything.
A burning heart is a heart that is on fire for God, and this is a heart that pleases God. A burning heart is heart filled with God’s love, which motivates us to depend on the Lord and motivated us to minister to lost souls. We can never have a loving heart without knowing the Word of God, because without the Word how can we know what God expects from us?
Today let Christ be your treasure and depend on Him for everything. He desires to be with you and help you through everything.
Prayer: Lord, help me to depend on you for everything in life, because I need you with me at all time, to guide me to tell people about salvation. In Jesus name, Amen
