Our Security is Christ

Posted on

I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.

Psalm 16:8

Nothing in the world provides security, because everything in the world is temporary. Our security in Christ enables us to endure anything Satan puts in our path. As Satan brings his evil into the world, his goal is to destroy our security and our dependence on Christ. When our security is in Christ and our home is Heaven, through Christ we can endure and feel secure no matter what happens in life.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28) If we live for Christ, and anything that happens in our life God will work it for our good; to increase our faith, bring us closer to Christ, and to take away our fear from Satan. All things are possible for God, and nothing in life will take us off the narrow road to Heaven.

The apostle Paul suffered greatly, but God made him content in all circumstances, and his difficulties brought him closer to Christ. I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, (Philippians 3:10) The greatest thing in this life is continually getting closer to Christ, and putting our security in Him. Life gets better the closer we are to Christ, and we can endure anything in life, because Heaven is our eternal home.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7) How can we have peace if we are not secure in Christ? The world brings worry, but security in Christ brings peace. Nothing in the world has lasting security, but our security in Christ will last forever.

Today put your trust and security in Christ, and walk in peace. If Satan tempts with fear, remember Christ is in total control of Satan.

Prayer: Father I put my security in Christ, and I put my faith in Christ. Help me to have more security and faith as I get closer to Christ. In Jesus name, Amen
