Only Christ Sets Us Free

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Galatians 5:1

When we read and obey the Word of God, Christ will set us free. Only Christ can free us so we are no longer burdened as a slave to the world. Satan uses his people to place fear in our life, and to make us live for our fleshy desires.  Satan goal is to take away our freedom and make us slaves to the world.

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. (John 8:36) We are free indeed because we know Heaven is our home and Christ is always with us. The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you–they are full of the Spirit and life. (John 6:63) Our life is guided by Christ and not by our fleshly desires, and we live for our eternal life with the Father and the Son. Our fleshly life is a temple and we live to serve the Lord.

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. (Matthew 10:28) Our life is in our soul, it is our thoughts, personality, and will; and the body without the Spirit is dead.  The flesh has a short temporary life, while our spiritual soul lives forever.  That is why we live for our eternal soul and not for our fleshy desires. Our eternal soul is free, and Heaven is our home.

When God feeds our soul from blessings from Heaven, we are at peace and content just as the apostle Paul was content in all circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.  I can do all this through him who gives me strength.  (Philippians 4:12-13) This is God’s plan, to constantly make us content by satisfying our spirit, so we will be free of searching the world for contentment.

When we minister to people, teaching Bible classes, handing out Biblical literature, ministering one on one; God’s love fills our hearts and life becomes more about serving Christ and ministering to people. God changes us so we are free from self, and then we are free in Christ.  I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. (Galatians 2:20) This verse describes freedom in Christ, we die to our will and live for Christ’s will.  Then we live life to the full with peace and joy, because that is the way God created us to live.

Today live for Christ and be free, be Holy and let Christ been seen in you. This is the most fulfilling life that we can have on this planet.

Prayer:  Lord guide me today to live for Christ, and to be free. In Jesus name, Amen
