We Are Ambassadors
We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.
2 Corinthians 5:20
We are ambassadors for Christ which means this world is not our home, and we live in this world for the purpose of representing Christ. And Christ guides us through the Holy Spirit, and enables us to bring Christ to everyone we encounter.
For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; (Philippians 3:20) As ambassadors for Christ we know our citizenship is in Heaven, and we live for Christ so Heaven is our home. If we know we are ambassadors for Christ in our minds, it will be difficult to live as an ambassador, but if we pray for the Lord to transfer from the mind to the heart, then we will live as an ambassador.
Christ came to earth to be an ambassador for God. He showed us how to live this life as an ambassador, and he died for our sins so we could be reconciled to God and receive the Holy Spirit. And God created the Bible which tells us everything we need to know how to represent Christ in this sinful word. God has given us everything we need to live as an ambassador for Christ.
When we live as an ambassador, we realize we have an important task which is to bring people to Christ. We pray for the Lord to open doors and guide us to bring Christ to lost souls. It is important that we pray, because it shows our desire to bring people to Christ, and it reveals our faith.
So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. (Genesis 1:27) We remember that every human being on the planet is created in the image of God, but Satan deceives people to live for their fleshy desires. Many people in this world think and hope Heaven is their home based on Satan’s lies. As an ambassador we are prepared to bring God’s truth to overcome their belief in Satan’s lies.
Ambassadors are trained to represent Christ, and we prepare from the Word of God to kill Satan’s lies. Some churches are deceived and are changing the Word, so they preach their own sinful desires. Satan poses as an angel of light, and some people in the church are deceived, they put their will above the Lord’s will, without even being aware. We are also ambassadors for Christ is the church we attend.
Today realize you are an ambassador for Christ, and your task is to represent Christ in every situation to the best of your ability.
Prayer: Father, remind me that I am called to be an ambassador for Christ, and to be guided by Christ. In Jesus name, Amen
