New Creation

Posted on

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

2 Corinthians 5:17

When we accept Christ, we receive the Holy Spirit, we are born of God, and we are a new creation. You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. (Romans 8:9) If we don’t have the Holy Spirit we are a new creation.

And anyone who does not take up his cross and follow Me is not worthy of Me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. (Matthew 10:38-39) As we follow Christ, we die to our worldly life and we live a new Godly life, and we reflect Christ to the world. Jesus replied, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.” (Luke 9:26) We never go back to our sinful nature, but we continue in our new Godly nature.

Our new creation is far better than the old creation, because we are guided by Christ through the Holy Spirit to overcome the world and we live in true freedom. It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1) Christ sets us free from bondage to the world, and the closer we are to the Lord the more freedom we experience.

Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it. (Matthew 7:13-14) Our new life is lived on the narrow road, where we walk toward the light of God into Heaven; while those on the broad road are walking around in darkness.

Today, know you are new creation in Christ being molded to likeness of his Son. See yourself on the narrow road, at the end of the road see the heavenly Light with Jesus reaching out to you.

Prayer: Lord, remind me that I am a new creation in Christ, and you are molding me every day to be more Christ-like. In Jesus’ name, Amen
