Mind of Christ

Posted on

“Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ

1 Corinthians 2:16

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. (Galatians 5:22-23) If we live by the fruit of the Spirit, we can have the mind of Christ.

But he comes so that the world may learn that I love the Father and do exactly what my Father has commanded me. (John 12:31) If we are to have the mind if Christ, then we do what Christ commands us, through the Word and through his guidance.

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” (Psalm 46:10) If we are guided by Christ through the Spirit, we must be still in our thoughts so we can hear the Spirit. If our minds are focused on the world, we may never hear the Spirit, and that is why we are still in our minds and think on things above.

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. (Colossians 3:2) If our minds are on things above and we go through the day talking to Christ, then we can hear Christ guiding us through the Spirit. If our minds are on things above and we are communing with Christ, then our thoughts are closer to the mind of Christ.

We can have the mind of Christ the more we read the Word and obey the word, because obeying the Word is what helps us to have the mind if Christ, because obeying the word changes our heart to a heart of love, and we care about ministering to others. Nothing changes us like obeying the Word. Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. (James 1:22)

Today read the Word and obey the Word: and seek the mind of Christ.

Prayer: Father, help me to have the mind of Christ, and to obey the Word and obey Christ through the Spirit. In Jesus name, Amen
