Never Thirst Again
Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
John 4:13-14
When we drink living water and never thirst again means that Christ is all fulfilling. The Lord feeds our soul with what most people look for from the world. The world tries to satisfy the soul by satisfying the flesh. This is like trying to find eternal satisfaction by the temporary things of the world.
The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you–they are full of the Spirit and life. (John 6:63) What does it mean the Word is full of Spirit and life? In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1) In this scripture, the Word is Christ which implies to know the Lord is to know the Word and to live by the Word. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. (Revelations 19:13) In the end of time, Christ returns and he is identified as the Word of God –implying final judgment is based on the Word.
Living water is to know Christ through the Word and living by the Word. We can only understand the deep meaning of the Word and belong to Christ if we are filled with the Holy Spirit. You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. (Romans 8:9) If we are filled with the Holy Spirit and if we live by the Spirit, then we are filled with living water.
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10) The thief is Satan who rules non-believers in the world with his lies and they are not filled with living water. Life to the full only comes when we are filled with living water from the Holy Spirit which is the Kingdom within us. Our soul is filled with Christ from the Spirit filling us with his love, his peace, and his joy. Our soul is now eternally filled through the Spirit and we never thirst again.
Today, live in the Kingdom by faith in Christ and live life to the full and never thirst again. We are filled with living water as the Spirit continually fills our soul. Stay connected to the Lord, so he can continually fill your soul with love, peace, and joy. The living water will well up inside you as Christ pours his blessings into your soul.
Prayer: Help me to live life to the full with living water and never thirst again, and never be in bondage to the world. Lord guide me in the Spirit to bring living water to lost souls. In Jesus’ name, Amen
