Moving Forward

Posted on

But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 3:13-14

Remember the former things long past, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is no one like Me. (Isaiah 46:9) God told the Israelites to remember what he had done for them in the past, and we remember what God has done for us in the past, because it will enable us to move forward closer to Christ.

We never forget God’s love because we remember what he has done for us. The longer we walk with the Lord, following his divine will; the closer we are getting to the Lord, and we trust him more each day. This gives us security in Christ that motivates us to move into the future with confidence, because we know he loves us and is always with us.

We remember the past because we can see how God has changed us to endure life, and we move into the future with faith in Christ. We are continually growing closer to Christ, learning more of his ways, and we become more active in bringing people to Christ.

Life serving the Lord is moving on, seeking opportunities to point people to Christ. Life with the Lord is exciting as he opens doors for us to minister to people. The Lord wants people that are motivated to serve him, and are active in seeking opportunities to be light for Christ. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. (Matthew 5:4)

Moving forward brings us closer to Christ, which motivates us to bring people to Christ. The closer we are to Christ the more Christ-like we become, and we cannot get closer to Christ without moving forward.

Today seek the Lord’s guidance, and show Christ-like behavior to everyone.

Prayer: Lord, help me to forget anything in the past that will hinder me from moving forward. Lord, you are in control of all things and you are protecting my soul for eternal life in heaven. In Jesus name, Amen
