Love Motivates Us

Posted on

“The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”

Mark 12:30-31

Love is the greatest command, because love in our hearts m0tivates us to bring people to Christ. through our service to Christ. Love is what motivated Jesus and love is what motivates us. Love is the foundation of the Christian life.

Motivation comes from the from love in our hearts, and it gets stronger the more we serve the Lord. When we follow the Spirit being a light for Christ in this world, the Lord changes our heart and our life is centered on God and others. The love in our hearts fuels our Light for Christ.

Ministering to others through the Word, prayer, and fellowship, is needed to support our ministry and to become more Christ-like. When our goal is to please the Lord by ministering to souls with the love he has put in our hearts, and the more love we have in our hearts the more love we have for the Lord and the closer we are him. Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. (John 4:7)

For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. (1 John 4:20) We show our love for the Lord by reflecting his love to others. Love frees us from ourselves and as we minister to the world, and it becomes the most fulfilling and rewarding thing in our life, because it what God created us to do. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10) Life to the full only comes from the Lord, when we give him priority in our life and reflect his love to others.

Today be motivated to care about others, their physical needs and their Spiritual needs. Let the Lord’s love grow in your heart as you reflect love to others, and notice the fulfillment and satisfaction of ministering to others. And when we minister to others, we will experience closeness to the Lord.

Prayer: Fill my heart with your divine love, so I will be motivated to serve you today, with your love and compassion with a heart that truly cares about others. Guide me in the Spirit so your love will grow stronger in my heart every day. In Jesus name, Amen
