Christ is Life

For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.

Colossians 3:3

When our life is hidden in Christ, it means we are one with Christ, and Christ guides us through life into Heaven. Everything we say and think comes from Christ through the Spirit, and from the Word.

Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. (John 15:4) If we depend on Christ, he will remain in us. and we will bear fruit, which means we bring people to Christ. We live each day guided by Christ because he guides us through life much better than if we walk alone. Christ knows us better than we know ourselves and he know exactly what we need in every situation in life.

The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life. (John 6:63) Obeying God’s Word gives us life through the Spirit, and the flesh counts for nothing. As the body without the spirit is dead, (James 2:26) and we are spiritually dead without the Holy Spirit. God gives us the Spirit and we have life to the full.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10) The Lord gives life to the full which means nothing is missing, but without the Spirit we continue feeding the flesh, because things from the world cannot provide lasting contentment, only God can bring lasting contentment to every person. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. (Philippians 4:12) The apostle Paul was always content because God fed contentment into his soul, which was stronger than whatever he endured from the world.

Today ask the Lord to guide you through the day, with peace and joy. The more we know the scriptures, the more we can walk with the Lord.

Prayer: Thank you for giving me spiritual life with peace and joy, and continue to guide me through each day of my life. In Jesus name, Amen.
