Live in the Light

Posted on

For you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light

Ephesians 5:8

We are a light in this world reflecting the heart and mind of Jesus. We are on the narrow road to eternal life, and we walk toward the light of God at the end of the road.  But in this world Satan is always trying to make us sin, and walk in darkness.

But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness! (Matthew 6:23) We have to be careful what we think and what we see, because Satan knows our weaknesses and is always attempting to bring darkness to us. If we yield to Satan and move into darkness, we have Godly sorrow and we seek forgiveness, and we pray of divine power to overcome darkness with light.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.  (Matthew 5:16) We should always seek to reflect the light of Christ by our words and actions. We don’t tell others about our good deeds unless they ask, but people can see the good deeds we do, and all the glory goes to the Lord. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. (John 15:5) All our good needs come from Christ in us, therefore we always give Christ the glory and thanks.

Christ in us is the light, it doesn’t come from us; but darkness comes from us when we sin, but we ask for forgiveness because we have Godly sorrow. For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. (Matthew 6:14) The more forgiving we are toward others, the more forgiveness we receive from the Lord, especially when we Godly sorrow.

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. (Romans 12:21) The more we do good guided by Christ, the more our life becomes less about us, and more about serving Christ; telling people about salvation through Christ. Then bringing lost souls to Christ becomes the priority in our life, then then light of Christ is stronger, increasing our motivated to serve Christ.

Today remain in the light, reflecting kindness with a caring heart of Jesus. This is how people see the light in us.

Prayer: Lord guide me to be a light with your love in my heart, to reflect your goodness to everyone. In Jesus name, Amen
