Live by the Truth

As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you.”

Matthew 24:3-4

The disciples ask Jesus for the sign for the end of the age when Jesus returns. The sign that Jesus gave was to watch out that no one deceives you. This is what we are seeing today throughout the world, including many Christians who are being deceived about what is going on in the world and relating it to God’s truth in the Word.

God reveals in the Word, primarily in the book of Revelation, about what will happen during end times. If we are believing Satan’s lies, if we don’t know the Truth of the Word, and if we don’t know the truth of what is happening in the world, then we are subject to being deceived. How can we correlate the Word with events at end times if we are deceived?

You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. (John 8:44) Everyone in the world that doesn’t know the Word will, by default, believe Satan’s lies. We see Satan’s lies in people today: in the population, in government leaders, in the media, and, in some Christians.

The Book of Revelation was written about the events occurring from the time Christ arose until He the time when he returns– this is so we can recognize end times. The closer we get to end times, the more we can correlate life with the Word.

Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. (2 Thessalonians 2:3) Once again we are told not to be deceived, and we are told Christ will not return until the man of lawlessness is revealed.  The man of lawlessness is revealed in Revelation as the “beast,” and he will rule all nations supported by the “false prophet.” The beast will persecute Christians and everyone must have the mark of the beast to buy and sell. We will certainly recognize these events and from Revelation, we will know Christ is closer to returning.  Exactly when these events will happen, no one knows except the Father in Heaven.

Today, seek the truth about the world and be suspicious about the media because that is Satan’s first target to spread his lies to the population. Search the truth from Christians that are in politics. We are at an age where the world is saturated with Satan’s lies and deceptions.

Prayer: Lord, guide me in in your divine truth and show me the truth about the world so I can pray with understanding.  Guide me in the Spirit to not be deceived by Satan’s lies. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
