Life to Our Spirit

Posted on

If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.

John 14: 15-17

Life to our spirit comes from having the Holy Spirit living within us. We are in spiritual war against Satan, and we cannot fight the spiritual war without the Holy Spirit, which connects us to the power of Christ.

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. (2 Peter 1:5-8) From these verses we can see that we spiritually grow, and we cannot spiritually grow without the Holy Spirit, because the Holy Spirit connects us to Christ.

Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. (Matthew 11:29) Through the power of the Spirit, we continually learn more about our Lord from reading and obeying the Word. As we obey the Word he fills our heart with his love, and now we are living as God created us. And God desires his spirit to live in us, which enables us to walk with the power of Christ and to overcome Satan’s attacks. Through the Spirit our hearts become more like the heart of Jesus, and for the first time we really see ourselves as God created us; and with power of the Holy Spirit, our life has a divine meaning.

Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. (1 Peter 5:8) Satan seeks to make us complacent, by stopping us from living in the power of the Spirit, and he does this without us being aware. But with the Holy Spirit we have divine power over Satan. To reduce Satan’s attacks, we read the Word, obey the Word, pray, and attend a church family: because we need other Christians to overcome Satan’s attacks. If we yield to Satan’s attacks, then we stop then we have stop living by the Spirit.

Today know the Holy Spirit gives life to our spirit, and walk today with the divine power of Christ. Seek to be guided the power of the Spirit, and not from the sinful world.

Prayer: Lord help to see the world from the spiritual view and guide me with your divine wisdom. In Jesus name, Amen.
