Hearts of Love
If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
1 Corinthians 13:2
A heart of love is the foundation of being a Christian, because a heart of love is the most important in being like Christ. We are created in the image of God, and how can we live in the image of God without love, because God is love.
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. (1 John 4:7-8) When we show love we are born of God, and without love we don’t know God. As we obey the Word and help others and tell them about Christ, God fills our hearts with his unconditional love. Love in our mind means very little, but when God moves his love into our hearts, we are changed forever.
And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. (Colossians 3:14) A heart of love binds everything together, which means all of God’s commands now become natural and desirable to us. We desire to tell others about salvation in Christ, because we are motivated by a heart of love.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians. (1 Corinthians 13:13) Love is the greatest command because it changes our heart to care and help others, and tell them about Christ. We are saved by faith and we have hope, but the word says the greatest of these is love.
Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. (1 John 4:20) Our love extends to all people including our enemies, because everyone is created in the image of God. Our only enemy is Satan with his lies and deceptions that pull people away from God.
Today show kindness and love to everyone, even if others make you angry.
Prayer: Lord, keep filling my heart with your unconditional love, and guide me to help others and tell them about salvation in Christ. In Jesus name, Amen
