Jesus Died for Our Sins

Posted on

For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.

1 Corinthians 15:3-4

We have read about Jesus being crucified for our sins, but do we every think about the love the Father and the Son have for us, that God sent his son to die for our sins so we can have eternal life. Jesus paid an extremely painful death because of his love for the Father and his love for us. There is no other reason than love, that Jesus suffered and died for us. There is no way we could save ourself; God sacrificed his own Son pay the price for our sins.

And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.” (Luke 9:23-24) We owe our life to Christ, because no one cares about us and loves us the way Christ does. Our love for Christ causes us to deny our self, and follow Christ.

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.” (Mark 10:27) When we serve Christ, God is with us; and we pray to the Father remembering all things are possible. We never limit our prayers to our own ability; we depend on God to carry us through anything in life.

God is love and Jesus was crucified because his love for us; and the Father and the Son wants us in Heaven. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. (1 Corinthians 1:25) God’s love for us more than we can imagine, and God is with us as we follow Christ into Heaven. We live with a thankful heart for all the Father and the Son have done for us in this life, and we show our thanks by serving Christ.

Not only did Christ die for our sins, God fills us with the Holy Spirit, and Christ guides us through life to our eternal home through the Spirit. God has done everything possible so Heaven will be our eternal home, except for how freewill. Our eternal life is our choice, we can live for Christ or we can live for Satan, there is no other choice.

Today thank about what the Lord has done for us, and serve Christ with a thankful heart.

Prayer: Father guide me thorough life to do your will, with a forever thankful heart. In Jesus name, Amen
