Life on the Narrow Road

Posted on

Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

Matthew 7:13-14

The most fulfilling life we can live is on the Narrow Road, because we are guided by Christ through life and into Heaven. We are created in the image of God and that the reason life on the Narrow Road is the most fulfilling life we can live on earth. So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. (Genesis 1:27) When we live as created by God, we will live the most fulfilling life possible, and life is better the closer we are to Christ as we travel down the Narrow Road.

The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. (Romans 8:6) Satan is always trying to pull us of the Narrow Road to Heaven onto the Broad Road to Eternal death. God has given us power over Satan so we can stay on the Narrow Road no matter what happens on earth. For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. (Romans 8:14) Life on the Narrow Road is life in God’s family, with the Holy Spirit living in us, and the Father and the Son make their home with us. Christ guides us through life down the Narrow Road to Heaven, our eternal home.

And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. (Hebrews 11:6) It is important to have faith that pleases God, if we want to stay on the Narrow Road. The faith that pleases God is to put our total faith and dependence on Christ, and he guides us through the Spirit. We get to Heaven only because we are guided by Christ.

Today stay on the Narrow Road to Heaven guided by Christ and the Word of God. And seek to be closer to Christ every day.

Prayer: Lord, keep me on the Narrow Road to eternal life, and prevent Satan from tempted me to be governed by the flesh. In Jesus name, Amen
