Life is Choices
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight
Proverbs 3:5-6
Life is choices and if we trust the Lord, we will make wise choices, because his choices are always correct. We make choices every day, in our thoughts, our word, and our actions. It is a blessing to have the infinite wisdom of God to guide our choices, and it keep our paths straight.
The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand. (Psalm 37:23-24) When we choose to be guided by the Lord, he will guide our steps, and if we deviate and stumble, he will not let us fall. The Lord knows we are not perfect, but we always do our best to follow his guidance. And the more we know the Word, and the more we seek to follow his will, the better we will become in making Godly choices.
The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. (Romans 8:6) The best choice we make is to be governed by the Spirit. Satan tempts us through the flesh and our emotions, but through the Spirit we can control our emotions and Satan has lost his power over us. It is a great victory to overcome Satan’s temptations.
But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. (James 1:14) God knows our thoughts, so we control our thinking; and if we can control our thinking through the Holy Spirit, we can control our life. Controlling our thinking is a difficult choice, but with the power of God we can succeed. When we learn to control our thinking, we have won a powerful victory over Satan.
Life is choices, and depend on the Lord to guide our choices. Letting the Lord guide your thoughts and choices, show our faith in the Lord. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrews 11:6) It is faith that we call on the Lord to help us make Godly choices.
Today be careful and make Godly choices and refuse to let Satan trigger your emotions. Remain calm in every situation, and call on the Lord for divine guidance.
Prayer: Lord guide me to make wise choices, and to slow down inside and call on your name for divine help. In Jesus name, Amen
