Jesus Overcomes Death
He will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign LORD will wipe away the tear from all faces;
Isaiah 25:8
he will remove his people’s disgrace from all the earth.
The LORD has spoken.
Christ left Heaven to teach the life that gets us to heaven, and He died in the flesh for our sins. Jesus never did a miracle for himself, and experienced the difficulties of life just we experience them. He rose from the grave and walked the earth for forty days, so we will know He rose from the grave and ascended into Heaven.
Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. (Mathew 10:28) We fear not of those who kill our flesh, because they cannot touch our eternal sprit. As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead. (James 2:26) Our life is our spirit which lives forever, and when Christ returns, we get an eternal body that never ages.
The greatest gift is when Christ came to earth, died for our sins, rose from the grave and ascended into Heaven. When we accept Christ as our savior and receive the Holy Spirit, Christ now lives within us, and guides us through life into Heaven. Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6) The only way to Heaven is through Christ, to accept him as Lord and let him guide us through life.
If Christ hadn’t died for our sins and walked on this earth to experience our life, we would never have forgiveness, and Heaven would not be our eternal home. We should be thankful every day for what Christ is doing for us, in the past and throughout our life. The great benefit of Jesus dying for our sins and rising from the dead and entering Heaven, is that we have the Holy Spirit and Christ lives in us. We have forgiveness, we overcome sinful habits, and we are a light for Christ in this world. God has done everything we need to go through life and have eternal life in Heaven.
Everything the Father and the Son is doing for us, so Heaven will be our eternal home; is based on the great love the Father and the Son have of us. See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. (1 John 3:1) There no love in all the world that compares to the love God has for us as seen through Christ. How can we not fully give our life to Christ? He died for our sins.
Today know what Christ went through on this earth, and it was because of great love for us, and the love from the Father, who is the creator of love.
Prayer: Lord, help me to celebrate every day that Jesus died for my sins, rose from the grave, and guides me through the Spirit to Heaven.
