Heaven is Our Home
For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.
2 Corinthians 5:1
Our life on earth is temporary and our life in Heaven is forever; and we live on the Narrow Road because he leads us to Heaven. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. (2 Corinthians 5:20) We see ourself as a temporay ambassador representing Christ on this earth, and we are guided by Christ from our homeland in Heaven.
If we live this life on earth traveling down the narrow road to Heaven. We see Heaven as our home and we the purpose of this short earthly to be pleasing to God. Our guide to Heaven is the Bible, which we read and obey, we have a church family, and we talk to Christ is prayer because he leads us through life to our home in Heaven.
They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. (John 17:16) Christ came from Heaven to earth to guide us to Heaven, and to die for our sins. Christ new Heaven was his home, and the apostles saw him ascend back to Heaven. Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:9-11) While Jesus was on this earth he obeyed the Father’s will, and he new this world was not his home, because he knew home was with his Father in Heaven. The same is for us, this world is not our home, and our home is with the Father and the Son in Heaven. And Christ will return and take us to our eternal home.
Today live for eternal life in Heaven, and know this life on earth is temporary.
Prayer: Lord, help me to know this life is temporary and not my permanent home. Heaven is my home and guide me down the narrow road to Heaven. In Jesus name, Amen.
