We All Face Eternity
For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.2 Corinthians 4:17
Everyone will experience eternity, and where we go depends what we do in this life. This short life on earth is the only chance we have to get right with God. And it comes down to whether we are living for our fleshly desires, or are we living for the Spiritual desires? The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. (Romans 8:6-7)
You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. (Romans 8:9) How can we live by the Spirit, if the Holy Spirit is not within us? We get the Holy Spirit by having a repentant heart, and our sins are washed through baptism.
No Christian is perfect because live in the flesh, but Christ died on the cross so we can have forgiveness. And we ask for forgiveness every day because our on our best day we may fall short. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. (Romans 12:21) If we are doing good, worshipping the Lord, reading the Word, praying, communing with Christ, and telling people about salvation through Christ; we are doing good.
When our hearts are changed, we are driven to tell others about Christ, and it becomes the most import thing in our life. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever. (1 John 2:17)
Today know someday we face eternity, and live each day for eternal life. Seek to be guided by the Holy Spirit, and live by the fruit of the Spirit.
Prayer: Lord, keep me on narrow road to Heaven, and to be guided by the Spirit. In Jesus name, Amen
