Hearts Filled with God’s Love

Posted on

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

1 Corinthians 13: 4-7

The more of God’s love we have in our hearts, the more we are like Jesus, and the more we know God. The Christian life is a life that reflects God’s love to the world. There is nothing greater in life than having our hearts filled with God’s unconditional sacrificial love. Love gives great peace, takes away fear, and gives us freedom,

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these. (Mark 12:30-31) There is no command greater than loving the Lord and loving our neighbor. God is love and with God’s love in our hearts we are more like Jesus, and we are closer to the Lord with better understanding. Love is the foundation of the Christian life.

Love changes our life; it motivates us to tell every lost soul about Christ. We hurt because of lost souls that are deceived by Satan, especially people that are close to us. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. (Romans 8:6) With our heart filled with God’s love we are governed by the Spirit and we seek to be closer to the Lord. We are totally depended on the Lord in everything we do, especially when ministering to others.

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1) Love frees us from self, and we are now free in Christ, and there is no other freedom that compares to the freedom that Christ gives us. We are free from the world and from fear of physical death. We live for Christ, guided by the Spirit to be a light on a hill, and there is nothing that has a higher priority in our life.

If you love me, keep my commands. (John 14:15) With hearts of love all the commands in the Bible are our new nature, because He has molded us to conform to the image of His Son. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters (Romans 8:29) All who accept Christ as their Lord and Savior are predestined to conform to the image of His Son. And we conform to the image of His son by filling our hearts with God’s divine love.

God’s love in our hearts is the answer to living the Christian life. Love makes every command in the Bible natural and desirable. Love enables us to know the Lord, depend on the Lord, live to serve the Lord, and always thankful to the Lord. It’ God’s love that changes us to be like Jesus.  God is love and He is molding us so we are love.

Today pray that the Lord will continue to fill your heart with His love, and show his love in everything you do.

Prayer:  Lord continue to fill my heart with your divine love, and guide me in the Spirit to show your love to everyone, even my enemies because your love is unconditional. In Jesus name, Amen
