Surpassing Worth of Knowing Christ

Posted on

But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ.

Philippians 3:7-8

The apostle Paul describes in the verse above the greatness of knowing Christ, and this can be true for everyone. The closer we are to Christ the more of His blessing feed our soul, and these divine blessings draw us closer to the Lord, to the point we want to be with the Lord. Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. (John 17:3) Without the Father and the Son, what would Heaven be like?

We were created by God, and the greatest thing we would ever experience is being in the presence of God. In this life God’s plan is for our soul to live in the Kingdom with a close loving relationship with Christ. With a close relationship with Christ, our soul is filled with blessings form Heaven which motivates us to be closer to Christ which drives more into the Kingdom.  Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. (Luke 17:21) We are created for our soul to live in the Kingdom close to the Lord.

He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. (Ecclesiastes 3:11) We can’t image how great it will be in Heaven with the Father and the Son. and we were created with eternity in our hearts. Unfortunately, Satan has most people attached to the world with little thought of eternity. However, as we develop a close relationship with Christ, eternity in our hearts starts to awaken, because we desire to be with Christ.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. (Ephesians 1:3) As we get closer to Christ, our soul experiences every spiritual blessing from Heaven. And these divine blessing are so powerful, that things in the world are inferior in comparison. Only God knows how to bless us because he created us, and the blessings constantly feed our soul and become stronger as we get closer to the Lord.

Today seek to be closer to the Lord, through prayer, the Word, and serving Him; and experience the blessings from Heaven that feed your soul.

Prayer:  Guide me in the Spirit to have a closer relationship with You, and receive the blessings from heaven that feed my soul and draws me toward things above and away things from the world. In Jesus name, Amen
