God is Our Perfect Judge

Posted on

Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment.

Hebrews 9:27

Since God is our perfect judge, it is important to know by what criteria he makes His judgment, which is given to us in His Word.  It’s important we view our life in accordance to God’s judgment instead of looking at our life according to our own judgment.

For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. (Galatians 5:17) This is a spiritual war and Satan will try to deceive us to justify our fleshly desire over God’s desire. Since we live in flesh, we can be biased in our own judgment.

I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself. My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me. (1 Corinthians 4:3-4)  Many Christians live by a combination of their will and God’s will, and this can make it difficult to judge ourselves.  The problem is when our will deviates from God’s will.  That is the goal of Satan — to get a foothold in our life. At end-times, Satan will not be limited in his power and will have all his demons trying to deceive us.  We pray that we are living in the Lord’s will and that Christ will guide us through the Spirit to stay in His will.

You can see the power Satan has over people who don’t know Christ and the Truth of His Word.  Christians have the Spirit and we know the Truth, therefore Satan searches out our weaknesses and creates a master plan to deceive us.  We overcome Satan getting a foothold in our life through prayer and Christian fellowship.  As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. (Proverbs 27:17) We hold ourselves accountable to a Christian friend because we cannot always see ourselves as other people see us, or how Christ may see us. We ask our Christian friends to hold us accountable to God’s truth. We need to understand God’s judgment because we cannot always rely on judging ourselves.

Today, make sure you live in accordance to God’s truth because Satan is out to deceive you. Everyday, read the Word and pray to verify your life is in agreement with God. Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. (1 Peter 5:8) Satan is persistent in his temptations.

Prayer:  Lord, be with me as I fight this spiritual war. The goal is to overcome evil by doing good as I bring your truth to the world. In Jesus’ name, Amen
