God is Light
This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.
1 John 1:5
God is sinless, and his commands in the Word of God are a perfect fit for us., because we are created in his image. So, God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. (Genesis 1:27) God is pure light and he is willing to guide us through each day of life.
No one on this earth can be perfect, only God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit are pure light with no darkness. The Holy Spirit lives in us through baptism, and the Father and Son make there home with us. Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make Our home with him. (John 14:23)
We have the Father, Christ, and Holy Spirit with us, so we can overcome the desire to sin, but we can never be perfectly sinless. For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit. (1 Peter 3:18) Christ was crucified for our sins and now we have forgiveness from God. Even though we fight sin with the power of God, we can never we pure light with no darkness like God, because we live in the flesh.
We fight sin by having a Church family, read the Word, and prayer. At the end of the day, we pray for forgiveness because we compare ourselves to God, then we see our self with darkness. Nowhere does the Bible say that a Christian in this life will ever be completely perfect—that is, free from all sin. (1 John 1:8). Even though we can never be perfect light, we fight sin every day through the power of God.
Today, do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. (12:21) We live for Christ and that is how we fight sin.
Prayer: Lord, help me to fight sin today by doing good guided by the Spirit. Christ help me through this day. In Jesus name, Amen
