Receive God’s Love
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.
Mark 12:30-31
God showed his love for us when Jesus died on the cross for our sins, and we are created in the image of God which means our hearts should be filled with God’s love. God is love and we are created to have hearts of love.
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace (Ephesians 1:7) The Spirit is sent from the Father to those who accept Christ as their Lord and Savior. If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. The Spirit of God lives in us, and the Spirit connects us to Christ who guides us through life.
Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done. (Luke 22:42) Jesus was asking God for another way besides dying for our sins on the cross, and God sent An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him. (Luke 22:43)
The Father sent his Son to the cross, and Jesus was willing to carry our sins to the cross because of his perfect love for us. Christ died a painful price to save our soul, and that is how much the Lord loves us and how important we are to God and Christ. But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. (1 Peter 2:9)
Today as read the Word, and notice the love in God’s heart, and how desperately he wants us to be with him in Heaven. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind. (Luke 10: 27). A heart of love motivates us to put God first in our life.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for the love you have for me, and open my heart to be filled with your love that I might reflect it to others. In Jesus name, Amen
