Gifts from God

Posted on

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

James 1:17

Every day we should thank God for life, and thankful that we can serve Christ; because the greatest gift is when Jesus died by crucifixion for our sins. We should be thankful for everything that is good, and for Christ guiding us through life.

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23) We have eternal life because Christ died for our sins, and God send the Holy Spirit to live within us, and Christ guides us through life. We should be thankful everyday for what has done for us, so Heaven can be our eternal home. There is nothing more God can do to get us to Heaven, but we are responsible for our own eternal life.

And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe. (1 Thessalonians 2:13) The Word of God should be our most important passion, because it is how we learn about God, his Son, the Spirit, and how to live in our earthly life.

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these. (Mark 12:30-31) Christ will guide us is to bring eternal life to people, and as we continue in telling people about salvation in Christ, God fills our heart with his unconditional love. This is the greatest command because we are motivated by God’s love in our hearts to help others. Serving Christ and helping others, becomes the spiritual goal of our life. This the greatest gift from God, the unconditional love he puts in our hearts, and God’s love for us stronger than any love found on the earth.

So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up. (Ephesians 4:11-12) Christ is head of the Church and he enables people to serve and to teach the scriptures. It is a true blessing to have other Christians that meet weekly and also see our brother and sister at other times. Christians are created to worship together, and to encourage each other and keep us on the narrow road to Heaven. We can also team with another Christian as we go into the world and tell others about eternal life through Christ.

God also fills our soul with love, peace, joy, and anything He knows we need, and the gifts get stronger the closer we are to Christ. Things from the world come and go because of tolerance, but the gift of God in our soul, there is no tolerance, the gift gets stronger every day.

Today be thankful for everything that is good, because it comes from God. Take nothing for granted, but give God the thanks and praise.

Prayer: Lord, thank for the gifts and guidance this day, Every blessing in my life comes from you and I will thank you every day. In Jesus name, Amen
