Fruit of the Spirit

Posted on

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

Galatians 5:22-23

The fruit of the Spirit is the character of a Christian.

Love: With a heart of love, all the other fruit become natural., and when we obey the Word, love enters the heart and we are changed forever. Love is what makes us more like Jesus. “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:30-31)

Joy: We live with joy because our eternal home is Heaven, and Christ is always with us, guiding us down the narrow road to our eternal home; and we reflect the joy we have to other people. Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. Christians are the few that find the narrow road that leads to Heaven.

Peace: Peace that comes from God is greater than peace we find in the world. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7) Peace from God relaxes us, and being relaxed helps to keep us physically healthy.

Patience: Patience also keeps us relaxed, while many people in this world aren’t patience. Having patience is very powerful in keeping us relaxed and also helps our physical health. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. (Ephesians 12:12)

Kindness: we show kindness to everyone, but we always speak the truth from God’s Word. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. (Ephesians 4:31-32) Kindness comes the heart of Christian, and how can we tell others about Christ without showing kindness?

Goodness: We show goodness when we reflect Christ, with scriptures and with encouragement. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. (Gelation 6:10)

Faithfulness: For he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones. (Proverbs 2:8) Christ is always faithful and every Christian should live with faith. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrews 11:6)

Gentleness: We speak with gentleness in our tone and our words, and we always speak the truth from the World of God. Even when people become angry, we respond with gentleness in our words.

Self-Control: Christians should always think before they speak, so their words will be encouraging to others. This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; (James 1:19) How can we have self-control if we can control our words, actions, and emotions?

Today seek to live by fruit of the Spirit, and don’t let Satan make you angry at people, because our enemy is Satan.

Prayer: Lord, help me to live by the fruit of the Spirit. In Jesus name, Amen
